2641 South SH 146 Business, just north of Bayland Marina and the Hyatt. City park, not the marina office: Buddy McBride public boat ramps and a kayak launch onto Tabbs Bay at the mouth of Goose Creek, a lighted fishing pier, picnic pavilions, a hilltop gazebo, restrooms, the southern end of Goose Creek Trail.

Open 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. Free boat dock and parking. This is the working waterfront that isn’t Thompson’s — Thompson’s is on Simms Road at Tri-City Beach, a different zip. Walkable to Anchor & Hearth if you want a table after the ramp. Parks: (281) 420-6597. Pets on leash. No overnight camping, no glass, no feeding the geese.
