Neighborhoods

Downtown is a cultural district. Garth is where the errands live. The bayfront is why the city has its name.

Downtown ACE District

Texas Avenue, Town Square, Art Alley, a steakhouse that closes at 8. The only stretch of Baytown where the car should stay put.

Goose Creek

Older streets, the festival lawn, and the creek the city is named around.

Garth / I-10

H-E-B, the grill circuit, hotels, Pirates Bay. Not pretty. Extremely useful.

Bayfront / Bayway

Nature Center, Hartman Bridge, fishing camps, the industrial sublime.

Lynchburg

The free ferry, Burnet Park, and a sightline toward San Jacinto.

East Bay / FM 2354

Yepez on a Sunday, dumplings on 146, a fish camp at Tri-City Beach.

West End / Decker

Decker Drive: Cuban Cafe at 4 a.m., Someburger at lunch, people who live here.

Wooster / North Main

Living history, quieter streets, cinnamon rolls, a different century of Baytown.

North / Cedar Bayou

Jenkins Park’s 102 acres, Crosby Cedar-Bayou, the part of town that is not trying to be downtown.
