W.L. Jenkins Park

4334 Crosby Cedar-Bayou Road. The city’s largest and most-used park — not scenic like the Nature Center, useful in the way a north-side Saturday actually is. 18-hole disc golf (concrete tees, DISCatcher baskets, a 4.4 on UDisc), a skate park, separate large- and small-dog parks with agility, a splash park, playgrounds, basketball, baseball, soccer, a fitness station, a clubhouse and pavilion you can rent, more than three miles of trail including the Cary Bayou connection to J.C. Hollaway Park.

Open 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. Free. Disc golf is show-up-and-throw. Bug spray if you take the wooded loop. Parks desk (281) 420-6597. This is where people who live here go when they do not need a mural alley.
