The family moved here from Florida in 2014 because Baytown had barbecue and tacos and almost no Cuban bread. They still ship the loaves from Florida. Come for the pressed sandwich — ham, roast pork, swiss, pickles, mustard — but the local move is the breakfast Cuban, served all day, with a cafecito that could wake the ship channel.
Opens at 4 a.m. on weekdays, which is not a bit. Shift workers, nurses, and people who mean it are already here. Saturday is later and shorter. Sunday they rest.
